MALIK, known as “Sweet Bread” among his fans, is a professional fighter and Timbuktu celebrity.

He grew up in the rough slums outside of Timbuktu and worked as a child in the mines. Now he’s the top fighter in Timbuktu.

He’s rich, handsome and in great shape. Charismatic, brash and loves the attention. He believes in “pulling yourself up by the bootstraps” and making your own way.

But deep down, he's scared of ending up back in the slums. 

Once he learns the truth about his fighting sponsor Khalid, he makes the ultimate decision to go against him.

But to really fight Khalid, Malik has to sacrifice his fame and fortune - in the hopes of moving the crowd against the most powerful man in Timbuktu.

Because it will take an army to defeat a man as powerful as Khalid.
